a little about me
15+ years of creative experience, across multiple platforms and industries (most recently in the grocery e-commerce space). I’ve worked for both large and small companies, across various industries including Educational Technology, Healthcare and Wellness, Grocery Retail and Enterprise Marketing. My experience spans across visual design, UI, UX and product design, with broad experience designing across mobile apps, desktop, web applications, and SaaS.
I’ve been an individual contributor for many years and spent the last 10 years leading design teams. I’ve led both Product Design teams and Marketing Design teams, and am looking for a position as a Director of Product Design.
My goal as a Design Leader is to lead with empathy, whether that’s empathy for our users or for the members on the Design Team. I am a diplomatic ambassador for Design in the organization, and a trusted leader who looks out for my team. I champion the Design POV and advocate for the team’s best interests, all while balancing those needs alongside business goals. I’m comfortable running critiques, leading visioning sessions, working with agile processes, mentoring young designers, and collaborating with senior designers.
I’ve managed people early in the career and those looking to advance after years of experience. I can pitch in on hands-on work as needed, or provide constructive feedback to get the best out of the team. I’m comfortable managing a remote team, having led a remote team the past 3 years with team members in California, Pennsylvania, Mexico, Poland, Ukriane and India. I’ve benefited from working with managers who have been valuable mentors, and aspire to do the same for my team.
I am a strong representative for the Design team in cross-functional collaboration, representing Design to senior-level stakeholders across various cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success and beyond.
