a little about me
15+ years of creative experience, across multiple platforms and industries (most recently in the healthcare tech space). I have broad experience designing across mobile apps, desktop, web applications, and SaaS. My experience spans across visual design, UI, UX and product design.
I’ve worked for both large and small companies, across various industries including Educational Technology, Healthcare and Wellness, Grocery Retail and Enterprise Marketing. I’ve been an individual contributor for many years and spent the last 9 years leading design teams. I’ve led both Product Design teams and Marketing Design teams, and am looking for a position as a Director of Product Design.
My management philosophy is one of trust and support. I trust my team to do the work they need to do and offer opportunities for support along the way when they need it, in the form of 1:1s, regular team meetings, team reviews and a transparent and friendly work environment. I like to be a “player-coach”, using my past experience to help me understand my team’s strengths and challenges. I can understand what are reasonable timeline expectations, know when a project might need additional support, appreciate how to collaborate with PMs and developers, and provide helpful design feedback during team critiques. Having benefited from great managers in my own career, I also strive to support my team members’ careers and professional development aspirations.
I’m comfortable managing a remote team, having led a remote team the past 3 years with team members in California, Pennsylvania, Mexico, Poland, Ukriane and India.
I am a strong representative for the Design team in cross-functional collaboration, representing Design to senior-level stakeholders across various cross-functional teams.
